Sofiya Zhukova

I’m a multimedia artist working with graphic design, photography, poetry, painting, and a variety of installations. I like to take on themes regarding perception, human nature, emotions, memory, and change through their ongoing practice.

 I started my art practice in traditional media with a focus on discovering color, composition, value, form, perspective, and even brushwork. I did freelance commission work for 4 murals for Tommy Douglas Collegiate and was heavily involved in Photography and Photoshop instructing as well as setting up classes.

“I would encourage you to take my class if you want to try new things and put yourself out there” I will be creating a class where no methods of creation are off-limits and whatever interests you can be of benefit. There are no wrong or right questions – there is an interest in learning. If you want to create something my purpose in this lesson is to give you the tools to make any ol outlandish idea, come to life.

This led me to choose digital design and get further acquainted with marketing to make a living creating. I’m a certified Graphic Design Specialist situated here in Saskatoon. An Honors Diploma Graduate at Saskatoon Business College with a GPA of 4.33. Finally launching a freelancing brand face in 2021. I’ve worked with a variety of start-ups and local-owned businesses. Working with brands such as Arbutus Properties, Black Fox, Blair’s Family of Companies, GenNext, UndergroundYXE, Logia Consulting, MR Promotions and Apparel and Sweet Perfections.

“Are you interested in several subjects or ideas? Let’s make something only you can” You want to enter an industry or market, but are unsure of how to get there…We can make a plan and get actions together to make sure you get where you want to go. Sometimes starting and keeping up the effort is hard. That's why my classes will make sure you have support and resources to give you direction.

My favorite project was Adobe's fast-paced game show, with a jury of industry experts where I won first prize and bragging rights! Diversifying myself on how graphic design impacts theater with my participation in the Design Theater Festival. Being part of an amazing collaboration hosted by Dj Olive, with other artists at PAVED ARTS, the Future Collective.  Volunteering with FixtPoint Media was a blast that led to creating a podcast all about artists and their passions.

“Most importantly my classes are there for learning and having fun!” Classes don’t have to be boring and interesting prompts and ideas will always be there to support your creative journey.
